This network combined two major UK monitoring networks, the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network (ADMN) and the National Ammonia Monitoring Network (NAMN), in 2008 to form the UK Eutrophying and Acidifying atmospheric Pollutants (UKEAP) network to allow a greater coherence to the UK monitoring programme. The measurements will provide new knowledge to: improve our understanding of chemical processes; provide a basis for assessing impacts; and underpin our understanding of the impacts of policy decisions. The UKEAP programme of high quality measurements allows an assessment of the spatial distribution of the monitored air pollutants and the changes in concentrations over time by the continuation of the dataset time series. NB the new UKEAP contract now includes the EMEP supersite operation (UKEOF477475; UKEOF25882).
